Hop Burns and Black launches can outlet

Hop Burns and Black will open a canned beer outlet, the HB&B Can Station at meat snack business Serious Pig’s arch in Peckham from 10 June.

Running each Saturday the shop will sell a section of canned beer for takeaway or to drink in, completing the Serious Pig snacks on offer.

Hop Burns & Black founder Jen Ferguson says: “We’re huge fans of canned beer: cans are easier to transport, they protect beer from one of its major enemies (light) and they look fantastic on shelf too. Plus you can fit a whole lot more of them in a fridge.

“With so many of our favourite breweries now canning their beers and the opportunity to take over a great space close to Peckham Rye Station, we thought, let’s devote an entire shop to cans.”

The HB&B Can Station opens each Saturday from 10 June at Serious Pig’s railway arch under the tracks by Peckham Rye Station on Blenheim Grove.

Ferguson added: “You could just head to our shop, where we’ve got the best craft beer selection in London just a few minutes walk up the road. But for those pressed for time or in need of a train beer, we thought we’d bring the shop to the station, in can form.

“Each week we’ll pick the very best and freshest cans from the 350+ craft beers we stock and haul them over to the Can Station. Expect to find breweries such as Beavertown, Cloudwater, Magic Rock, Northern Monk, Verdant, Mikkeller, Evil Twin, Lervig, To Ol, Yeastie Boys and many more. If it’s good and in a can, it’s there.”
