Meantime launches seasonal saison

The brewery has used Suffolk malted barley and pureed strawberries in the 5.0% beer, which features a combination of “biscuit and honeyed notes combined with tart fruit” that the company said helps finely balance the bitterness and offers a crisp, dry finish.

Ciaran Giblin, Head of QA and innovation at Meantime, explained: “The start of summer offers us the opportunity to experiment with an exciting range of seasonal flavours. We’ve taken the very best seasonal British fruits, malts and hops to create a wonderfully unique and refreshing summer brew.

“Taking inspiration from the iconic Wimbledon style strawberries and cream, we wanted to create something that had all the hallmarks of this classic combination, whilst remaining authentic to the saison style.

“Brewed with finest quality Suffolk malted barley and pureed strawberries, which we added during maturation, this hazy blonde beer is best enjoyed on a sunny afternoon with or without tennis.”

The new Summer Saison is available in 330ml long-neck bottles from the Meantime’s Tasting Rooms Shop in Greenwich and through it’s online shop.
