Nomadic Beers crowdfunding new van

Leeds based-Nomadic Beers has launched a vital crowdfunder appeal to help fund a new brewery van.

The previous van – named ‘GeeGee’ broke down recently and became irreparable. This has left the brewery unable to trade properly at a time when rebuilding some stability is key for such a small beer business.

Owner Katie said the crowdfunder is absolutely key to the continued operation of the business: “GeeGee was an essential part of our brewery kit like any other.

“We’re stuck without her. Over the last 15 months we’ve had no choice but to dip into the small reserves we had to try and keep the business going and make sure our team’s jobs were safe.

“Now the brewery van has given up the ghost it probably couldn’t be worse timing, but these things happen. We’ve got wonderful friends in the industry and loyal customers and we’re just hoping that we can get enough ‘few quids’ here and there to help us fund a new one.”

Katie and the team have put together a range of exclusive rewards in return for donations to the fund, from a special crowdfunder t-shirt to a brewery tour, an opportunity to pre-pay for super-cheap pints, and a VIP brew day.

The initial target set is £12,000 and should this be reached, a stretch target will help go towards Katie’s dream of a buying a canning machine for the business.

She added: “We love being part of the fabulous beer scene in Leeds, and honestly after such an awful and challenging year we’re ready to push on and spring back to life.

“Securing the money we need for a new van is just that start and once our beer is back on the road we can really start to pick up where we left off before the pandemic hit.”
