The Brewers Journal is going monthly from February 2018, increasing the amount of technical insight, brewery interviews, product focuses and science papers it delivers the professional brewing industry.
The moves comes on the back of a magazine redesign this month that marked the publication’s third year in business.
Publishing 10 times a year, The Brewers Journal will increase its news coverage and allow it to immediately address challenging industry issues in an even more timely manner.
Four additional issues a year enables us to speak more frequently to beer buyers, innovators in the off- as well as on-trade, and the breweries making moves in Europe, the US and beyond.
It also gives more space to subjects away from the core of brewing, but just as essential, such as brewery finance, strategies for growth, regulatory changes and more.
Tim Sheahan, founding editor of The Brewers Journal, explained: “It has been an incredibly rewarding two years, working and growing with the broad, diverse and innovative group that is the brewing industry.
“There can be few other fields as fascinating and hard-working as that of brewing. Moving the magazine to a monthly means we can bring our readers more content, more frequently while featuring more of the fantastic people that make this industry what it is.”
Jon Young, publisher of The Brewers Journal, added that the move comes at “the right time” for the publication.
He said: “The UK and Ireland are major brewing nations, yet lag behind peers in the US and Germany in terms of knowledge sharing.
“Since launching in September 2015, we have been developing multiple ways to support the industry’s growth such as the successful Brewers Lectures, and the inaugural Brewers Congress taking place in London this November.
“This move enables us to increase our support for the industry and allow breweries to continue to tell their stories to our growing audience, which now includes beer enthusiasts and homebrewers that are looking to make that leap into brewing professionally.”
The Brewers Journal becomes a monthly publication from February 2018, publishing 10 times a year with a joint issue in July/August and December/January.
