‘We’re going to need a bigger trolly’

US economy brewer Pabst Blue Ribbon, also well known as PPR, has released a 99-pack of beer for the first time in the USA. Previously, this 7-foot long monster was only available in Canada.

The “family pack” holds a mixture of Pabst beers, including Original, low-calorie ‘Easy’, and its higher ABV ‘Extra’.

While according to the American Beer Museum Pabst invented the six-pack, Texan craft brewer Austin Beerworks says it was the first beer company to come up with the 99-pack, back in 2014.

Austin went on the social media attack but, according to Eater Austin, the two breweries buried the hatchet after Pabst donated $9,999.99 to the Central Texas Food Bank last week.

“PBR’s USA team quickly reached out and we were able to come to an agreement,” Austin Beerworks shared with Eater Austin.

Austin Beerworks wrote via a statement: “We’re proud that a wild idea we had five-years-ago has proven too dumb to die and is still finding ways to give back.”
