Double-Barrelled has welcomed Dave Tugwell to its board of directors in the newly-created role of sales director.
Dave brings with him over 15 years experience in the licenced drinks trade, most recently having spent 4 years at Big Smoke Brew Co, as Sales Director, alongside previous roles Orchard Pig cider, Wells & Youngs and Wadworth Brewing Co.
He joins the board with a clear remit for managing all sales domestically and internationally for Double-Barrelled, and utilising his wide network of industry contacts, knowledge and experience to help shape the sales strategy in full.
Dave Tugwell said: “I am thrilled to be joining one of the best breweries in the UK to aid Luci, Mike and their wonderful team to grow Double-Barrelled in the coming years.
“Having followed and admired the story and growth of Double-Barrelled since their inception, I’m excited to get stuck in to the project and the opportunity to become a part of the exciting Double-Barrelled future.”
Co-founder and Managing Director Luci Clayton-Jones added: “We are delighted for Dave to be joining Double-Barrelled, bringing invaluable experience and sales strategy to our team.
“We are over the moon that Dave also sees the opportunity within Double-Barrelled and also our core range, particularly Parka.”
Co-founder and Operations Director Mike Clayton-Jones explained: ”I couldn’t be more excited for the future of Double-Barrelled as we grow our team, and the introduction of Dave to the board of directors is absolutely the right fit for us as a business. His passion and experience combined offer us some fantastic opportunities in the immediate and long-term future.”
The brewery has rapidly grown over the past four years, seeing 100%+ volume growth year-on-year for the past 4 years, and targeting an additional 50% volume growth in FY2023/’24 increasing outputs to circa 4,500hL, despite the challenging trading environment.
As well as frequent special and seasonal releases, growth has been primarily focused on Double-Barrelled’s two core beers, with the majority of increases in volume forecast to be based around Parka, their 4.5% award winning Citra dry hopped pale ale.
