Queer Brewing launches latest alcohol-free beer

Queer Brewing, the UK’s queer- and trans-owned brewery, has launched a brand new alcohol-free beer with a clear message: alcohol-free beer isn’t just for Dry January.

Brighter, Bolder is Queer Brewing’s latest addition to their alcohol-free lineup—a 0.5% hazy IPA, designed to deliver full flavour and body, without the alcohol.

Taking inspiration from their core range 6% hazy IPA Burst Into Bright, Queer Brewing’s head brewer Andy Potter asked himself, “Why shouldn’t these flavours be enjoyed by everyone, including sober folks?”.

What started as a question evolved into a finely-tuned recipe, blending elements from both the Burst Into Bright recipe, and that of Bold, their 0.5% core range alcohol-free pale ale. The result is Brighter, Bolder—a 0.5% hazy IPA, with tropical notes, a little citrus, and a soft, pillowy body, reminiscent of both its namesakes.

Despite the beer being released to coincide with Dry January, where many drinkers seek fresh alcohol-free alternatives, Queer Brewing remain steadfast in their commitment to producing and providing alcohol-free options all year round.

“To us, great alcohol-free beer stands on its own—it’s not an afterthought or a replacement for ‘the real thing’”, said founder Lily Waite-Marsden.

“Many folks in our LGBTQ+ community are sober all the time, so continuing to develop our alcohol-free lineup, and having a consistent, high-quality AF offering available, is a central part of what we do as a brewery”.
