Horsforth Brewery has announced that it has taken ownership of Fuggle & Golding, the much-loved craft beer bar in the heart of Ilkley.

The acquisition secures the future of one of Ilkley’s established independent beer venues and marks Horsforth Brewery’s first permanent site in the town.

The venue will continue to operate as a specialist craft beer bar, with a refreshed product mix that includes a strong presence of Horsforth Brewery beers alongside a curated range of guest breweries.

Mark Costello, Founder of Horsforth Brewery, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be taking over such an established and respected business. Fuggle & Golding has been a staple of the Ilkley beer scene, and when we saw it was closing we were determined not to lose another important independent venue.

“I want to thank George for everything he’s built over the last three years and for making the completion process so smooth and quick. We’re proud to be building on the foundations he’s created.

“We’re also incredibly excited to finally have a proper home for our beer in Ilkley. The town has a fantastic reputation for quality and community, and we can’t wait to become part of that.

“Hopsitality is really struggling at the moment but our commitment to sustainable growth rather than growth at all costs means we’ve been able to organically grow our business to the next level and are confident this will be a success.”

Fuggle & Golding has built a loyal following since opening, known for its rotating craft beer lines and welcoming atmosphere. Under Horsforth Brewery’s ownership, customers can expect continuity in spirit and quality, alongside new energy, events, and a broader selection of beers from the Horsforth range.

The takeover reflects Horsforth Brewery’s continued commitment to supporting independent beer culture and strengthening local communities through great beer and welcoming spaces.
