Dr Klara Hajdu is the hop breeder for the British Hop Association-funded Wye Hops Research Programme. Her work focusses on developing new UK-bred hop varieties with an emphasis on climate resilience and brewing quality. Alongside breeding, Klara’s research investigates the use of genetic markers and other modern breeding approaches to make variety development faster and more efficient. She works closely with hop growers, brewers, industry and academic collaborators to support innovation across the wider hop sector.
