Asda expands beer range with new 440ml range

Asda has broadened its in-house beer offering with the launch of seven new beers produced under the ‘Asquith 1965’ name.

Each beer is available in 440ml can and range from a 5% traditional world lager and 6.8% heritage cider, to Irish stouts and also hop-forward hazy IPAs.

The 4.1% Irish Nitro Stout is produced from Siren Craft Brew while Break the Cycle, is a 4.3% Session IPA from Leeds-based Kirkstall Brewery.

This carries a unique connection to Asda’s own history as Kirkstall brewery is housed in a former Associated Dairies warehouse, the business that would go on to become Asda.

The collection also includes the 4.6% Keep Rolling Hazy IPA and 5.8% Stormy Maine Hazy NEIPA from Croatia’s The Garden Brewery.

The Asquith 1965 Lager at 5%, us brewed with Damm at Eagle Brewery, while Session Best Bitter is a 3.4% offering from Ossett Brewery. A cider is also available, produced by Westons.

Ryan Truswell, Beer and RTD buying manager at Asda said: “With more beer drinkers looking beyond traditional lagers and exploring craft, heritage and flavour-led styles, Asquith gives our customers the chance to discover something new without the premium price tag. Rather than simply competing on price, we’ve developed Asquith to offer more beer for your money, while still delivering real quality and character.

“We’ve worked with some fantastic breweries and brewing partners to create a range that has genuine provenance and great flavour behind every can. What’s particularly exciting is the breadth of the collection, Asquith is our way of showing that great beer should be accessible to everyone.”
