Big Drop launch Black IPA

Alcohol-free brewer, Big Drop, is launching a special edition 0.5% abv Black IPA with a nod to its musical roots to amplify its partnership with the entertainment industry’s charity: Backup Tech.

Big Drop would never have been born if it wasn’t for music as co-founders – Rob Fink and James Kindred – were bandmates long before becoming brewmates. And they have a special affinity with Backup Tech as another of their band members was helped by the charity following his terminal cancer diagnosis.

‘By The River’ takes its inspiration from The Clash and is described as a fusion of flavours that combines contrasting beer styles to create a uniquely flavoursome experience of dark malts with a hoppy nose. You can look forward to its chocolatey aromas and a hint of oakiness, complemented by pineapple.

Black IPA is an established favourite among craft beer fans but rarely seen as an alcohol-free option. Similar in appearance to a stout, its hop characteristics are very present: more so than a traditional IPA but balanced with roast flavours thanks to its dark malts.

Rob Fink, Co-founder and CEO of Big Drop, commented: “What better way to welcome the festival season and introduce our charity partner, Backup Tech, than with a limited-edition Black IPA, crafted especially for music lovers by music lovers? We have shown love to the royals with our recent Jubilee IPA Thank Brew but now it’s time to celebrate the punks.”
