Brew My Beer | English Bitter

An award-winning homebrew recipe, this 3.5% bitter is brewed with a combination of Bramling cross and Challenger hops as well as Maris Otter.

Neptune Brewery has been brewing modern beers, inspired by tradition, since 2015.  Their beers are naturally conditioned and unfined – ensuring the greatest flavour in each brew. It also means our beers are vegan-friendly as they want everybody to enjoy them.

All Neptune beers are unfined, which means they do not use any animal-based agents to clarify them. They choose to let the natural fermentation and conditioning process clarify the beer. They also do not use any animal-based ingredients in any of their recipes. They’ve taken these approaches as they want as many people as possible to enjoy their beers.

They’re also pretty unique in that all of their beer, including our keg and cans, are naturally-conditioned. They do not use CO2 to carbonate their beers, instead allowing the yeast to do its thing, and let nature carbonate the liquid. They believe this delivers the perfect mouthfeel for the best drinking experience.

Overleaf you read about Les’s early days in the world of beer and brewing. And to your right, because he’s nice like that, is one of his formative, award-winning homebrew recipes. At 3.5% ABV this particular beer showcases English malt and English hops, resulting in an easy-drinking Bitter to be enjoyed all year-round.
