Closet Brewing and RPG Taverns collab on new beer

RPG Taverns, London’s immersive Dungeons & Dragons bar and community space, has teamed up with Edinburgh-based nano-brewery Closet Brewing to launch Tabletop, a special one-off beer inspired by the popular roleplaying game, Dungeons and Dragons.

Tabletop is a 3.2% table beer, designed to be light, refreshing, and highly sessionable. D&D games can last beyond 3 hours, so a beer that can be enjoyed over a long time is the perfect pairing for an adventuring party.

The collaboration beer is available UK-wide until stock runs out, celebrating the shared values of creativity, inclusivity and fun that define both businesses.

The label artwork for Tabletop was created by Orion (he/they), a queer, neurodivergent, trans Edinburgh-based designer and tattoo artist. A lifelong D&D fan known for illustrating “weird little creatures,” Orion was particularly excited to bring the concept of a “biblically accurate D20” to life for the can design.

Closet Brewing is run by two queer women (and their tiny dog) and is known for its quality vegan beers and playful approach to brewing. RPG Taverns, based in Elephant & Castle, has built a reputation as one of London’s most distinctive social spaces, blending fantasy worlds with real-world connection through D&D and tabletop play.

“I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons and other tabletop RPGs since I was a kid, and I’m a massive fan of the community RPG Taverns are building in London,” said Lucy Stevens, Head Brewer and Director, Closet Brewing. “They’ve supported us since the early days of Closet, so we leapt at the chance to work together, not just on creating a great, super-sessionable beer, but also the opportunity to run a one-of-a-kind D&D adventure. At its heart, this collaboration is about doing cool things and having a lot of fun, which is absolutely at the core of our mission.”

“RPG Taverns has always been about bringing people together around the table, whether that’s through storytelling, dice-rolling or just sharing a drink,” said Josh Saco, co-owner of RPG Taverns.

“Collaborating with Closet Brewing felt like a natural fit, they’re creative, share many of our values around community, and unafraid to do things differently. I’m really happy to bring Tabletop to our own community and celebrate the joy of boardgames together.”
