Double-Barrelled eyes increased capacity

Reading-based Double-Barrelled Brewery is to undertake an expansion programme that will boost capacity and also create new jobs.

The business, which was started by Luci and Mike Clayton-Jones in 2018, has experienced a sustained period of success which includes listings at major UK retailers.

Now, with a Thames Valley Berkshire expansion loan from The FSE Group, the team is planning to invest in new kit while also increasing its marketing and sales operations.

Commenting on their plans Luci said: “We have invested everything into building Double-Barrelled over the past eight years and are incredibly proud of how far the business has come.

“From brewing our first beers at home to supplying customers across the UK, we’ve always focused on creating great beer and building a community around the brand.”

Luci’s husband and business co-founder Mike added on Bdaily: “This funding gives us the opportunity to invest in the people, equipment and marketing needed to take the next step.

“We see significant opportunities to grow our retail and wholesale presence, with this funding both unlocking new national listings and supporting existing ones, and we look forward to working with FSE as we continue this journey.”

Rob Hillary, investment manager at The FSE Group, added: “Double-Barrelled Brewery is a fantastic example of an ambitious founder-led business that has built a strong brand and loyal customer following over many years.

“Luci and Mike have created a business with real momentum, supported by national retail listings, a successful taproom and a clear strategy for future growth. We’re pleased to support the team as they continue to grow the business and create jobs in the region.”
