The 5.5% dark beer has been brewed with mulled winter spices that are said to create a ‘rich, complex, full-bodied taste’.

Available in 330ml bottles, the ‘The Winter Warmer’ forms part of a two-year contract with Lidl that will also comprise further seasonal beers.

The beer forms part of Lidl’s Hatherwood Craft Beer Company range. In addition, the retail business is stocking 4.4% ‘Hogs Back’s Hop Garden Gold’ and ‘Gardeners Tipple’, a 4% amber bitter.

Hogs Back Brewery managing director Rupert Thompson explained, “We’re delighted with this partnership with Lidl, which enables us to bring our beers to a new customer base.

“Lidl is developing a strong reputation for its interesting range of quality beers and support for regional produce, so both our existing ales and the winter beer are a perfect fit.”
