London Fields Brewery appoints Talfryn Provis-Evans as head brewer

Talfryn Provis-Evans has taken on the role of head brewer at London Fields Brewery, starting in the position on Monday, 29th January.

Provis-Evans, who leaves the position of head brewer at London’s Redchurch, has also worked in brewing roles at Crate Brewery, Beavertown and St Peter’s Brewery in Suffolk.

The appointment is the first addition to the brewing team since Carlsberg acquired London Fields Brewery (LFB) in a joint venture with Brooklyn Brewery in the summer of 2017.

Commenting on his appointment, Provis-Evans said the role was an “exciting opportunity” for any brewer to take on.

He told us: “Never before have I been able to grasp such a level of control not just over the specification of the brewhouse, but the recipe formulation and the creative future of London Fields Brewery.

It’s the fluidity of the situation here that really appeals. We have a blank canvas regarding the types of beers we can create, and that is really exciting.”

Nayar from London Fields Brewery, added: “We’ve taken our time to make the right head brewer appointment, and I am glad we did.

“The individual needed to have the quality we were looking for, along with a creative vision for this brewery. Talfyrn gives us that and I’m excited for what the future holds.”
