In data collected before corona, sales of low and alcohol beer, spirits and wine jumped by a third, from January 2019 to January 2020, according to survey commissioned by The Grocer magazine.
The question is, after all the UK’s drinking consumers have been through recently, will the demand for low/no alcohol drinks continue?
According to the survey, sales of low/no alcohol beers were up by 40 percent to £71.4 million. Regular ciders sales rose by 28 percent and ready-to-drink cocktails and mixes doubled to a value of £3.8 million. The only alcohol that saw a drop in UK consumption was wine.
