Meraki Brewing Co strikes local partnership

Worthing-based Merakai Brewing Co has teamed up with Bauji, a local modern Indian restaurant to launch two new beers.

The new releases have been created to pair with Chef Dayashankar Sharma’s flavour-packed, gently spiced Indian dishes.

Guests can now try the Bauji x Merakai Lager, which is a crisp and light-bodied beer with subtle citrus notes, floral aromatics and a gently toasted malt backbone, perfect to pair with spicy plates such as the Bhoona Prawn and popular Gunpowder Broccoli.

For hop lovers, the Bauji x Merakai Pale Ale offers a smooth pour with a vibrant hop character featuring tropical and stone fruit flavours rounded out with hints of vanilla and coconut, a great accompaniment to the charred flavours in Bauji grill dishes.

The Pale Ale hop variety will rotate monthly, giving guests a new expression of the beer while maintaining its signature fruit-forward profile.

Bauji, opening in March of this ear, follows the success of chef Dayashankar Sharma’s Heritage Dulwich. Named “Bauji” – Hindi for “father” – the restaurant draws on the nostalgic food Sharma grew up eating in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan, with a menu that balances family recipes, regional favourites, and modern culinary creativity in a unique interpretation of Indian comfort cooking.
