Mondo Brewing Company, a proudly independent London-based brewery, is celebrating its 10th birthday with a full-scale brand refresh—marking not only a decade of brewing but the beginning of a powerful new chapter after a turbulent few years in the industry.
Founded in 2015 with a passion for creativity, quality, and community, Mondo built a strong local following—but like many independent breweries, the business was hit hard by a string of challenges beginning with the COVID-19 pandemic. Lockdowns, rising costs, and pressure from global beer giants made trading conditions increasingly difficult.
Thanks to the commitment of its team, support from the local community, and backing from industry veteran Rupert Thompson—Mondo lives on. Rupert, known for his long-standing contributions to the UK beer scene, played a crucial role in securing the brewery’s future and helping guide its strategic revival.
“The last four years have been pretty brutal for small independent brewers, but it is wonderful to see a story of survival and revival in Mondo,” said Rupert Thompson.
“They restructured and refinanced and are now operating a much leaner, more sustainable business, and the exciting relaunch promises a bright future.”

And now Mondo’s core range has been given a bold new look, with award-winning fan favourites returning alongside exciting new additions. Dennis Hopp’r IPA remains the flagship, now joined by Texas Whistle—available in 330ml cans, bottles, and 30L kegs. Completing the refreshed core lineup are Road Soda (a juicy New England Pale Ale), Little Victories (a crisp Session IPA), and Hiker (a classic Helles Lager, formerly known as Machina).
“This is more than a new look—it’s a celebration of 10 years of beer, creativity, and community,” said Mondo’s Co-Founder and Managing Director, Todd Matteson.
“We’ve come through one of the hardest periods in our history, and this brand refresh is a declaration of intent: we’re here, we’re independent, and we’re excited for the next chapter.”
To bring the new identity to life, Mondo partnered with award-winning brand specialists CookChick, known for their standout work in food and beverage. At the heart of the refresh is a bold new ‘M’ logo featuring bespoke internal artwork by Luke Drozd, the multidisciplinary artist who has worked with Mondo since 2019. His playful, textured style brings depth and narrative to the brand, echoing Mondo’s creative spirit and strong visual legacy.
CookChick explained: ““Mondo as a brand has lots to offer. Proudly independent, they brew a great range of beers and are well respected. Their American heritage is instilled with the spirit of exploration, innovation and cultural connections.
“They are Battersea based but shaped by the world’s ‘melting pot’ of influences and experiences. Our challenge was to capture the essence of Mondo, ‘an unapologetically bold, fun and welcoming brand’.
“We created an energetic M that not only could embody the energy of Mondo, but also be a window to tell the story of each beer. The branding is much stronger and is now more immediate to current and new customers, helping cut through the ‘noise’ of the beer arena.”
The 10th anniversary and rebrand come at a critical time for the UK’s independent brewers. According to the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA), global beer conglomerates continue to crowd out smaller producers by dominating distribution networks and tap lines. Independent breweries like Mondo have been disproportionately affected, with many closing their doors in recent years.
“Mondo’s journey reflects a bigger picture,” added Matteson. “The playing field isn’t level—but despite the challenges, we’re proud to be part of a community that continues to fight for craft, quality, and independence.”
To celebrate, Mondo will be rolling out the brand relaunch across a wide range of venues throughout London. The official launch party, with Mondo’s team in attendance, will take place at the Crown and Anchor, SW11—the brewery’s chosen launch venue.
