A new e-learning platform that is designed to give brewers and QC professionals access to brewing sensory and microbiology training has been launched.
Nexus from Cara Technology, the provider of sensory training, proficiency testing, and technical support, “translates thirty years of hands-on work with the world’s brewers into structured, self-paced online courses,” the company said.
The platform launches with two programmes built specifically for the brewing industry.
Brewing sensory analysis for quality control covers off-flavour and taint identification, sensory panel performance, and QC best practice for breweries of any scale.
Brewing microbiology 101 is an introduction to the microbiological principles underpinning beer quality, stability, and shelf life.
A third programme, sensory analysis for quality control, offers foundational sensory training for those new to QC or working across multiple beverage categories.
“What we’re really doing with Nexus by Cara Technology is opening the doors,” said Dr Bill Simpson, founder and managing director of Cara Technology Limited.
“For thirty years we’ve been delivering this training to brewers one room at a time, around the world. Now any brewing QC professional, anywhere, can sit down and work through it. Same training, same standards. Just much easier to get to.”
