Taste of spring

Last year Somerset’s Yonder Brewing and Blending used fresh magnolia alongside forced spring rhubarb in a batch of its Loop.

This year the brewery plans on doing the same, using magnolia to add a floral spice to its wild ale base.

It you can’t wait for the floral taste, the brewery has announced that it has just released in 5.2% ABV Rosehip Saison.

“Rosehip Saison pours a hazy gold colour with a thick white foam. It is light in body and a high effervescence drives forward aromas of bakers yeast and spiced fruit, created by high temperature fermentation, the addition of new variety British hops and foraged hedgerow rosehips. Medium hop bitterness balances against the soft malt character, with rye to enhance the winter spice characteristics of our saison yeast,” says the brewery.

“The beer is fermented dry & lifted by a natural acidity from the foraged fruits, which lingers with notes of hibiscus on your tongue.”
