The Brewers Lectures come to Brighton on 15th June

The Brewers Lectures will take place in Brighton next month on the 15th June.

Join us for an afternoon of excellent talks on a range of industry subjects from growing your brewery, brand building, beer judging and much, much more!

The event, supported by Brook House Hops and Lallemand, takes place from 12:30 – 17:00 at St. Augustine’s Centre, Brighton on 15th June.

We’ll have a raft of engaging talks, excellent beer, a wealth of networking opportunities and good times guaranteed.

Katie Arabella | Big Smoke Brew Co

Katie Arabella Ward is the key accounts, internal sales and operations manager at Big Smoke Brew Co. Big Smoke is a modern brewery and pub company, producing flavourful beer in the leafy suburbs of Esher in Surrey.  Before her roles within beer at reputable companies including Northern Monk, Mondo, Carlsberg & Little Creatures and renowned wholesaler James Clay. Katie gained life experience spending four years as a freelance make-up artist both in the UK and US. Her passion for growing brands, championing original ideas & helping businesses gain recognition through creative sales & marketing tactics, make her a highly regarded member of the UK brewing industry. 


Andy Bridge | Abyss Brewing

Andy Bridge is the co-founder of Abyss Brewing, a forward- thinking microbrewery based in Lewes, East Sussex. Andy believes in the power of beer to bring people together, with the brewery always placing collaboration at the heart of what they do, whether brewing beer or working with the creative community and local charities. In February 2020 Abyss won the BREW LDN Accelerator Competition beating 19 other fledgling breweries to the prize. And to end the year they successfully completed a Crowdfunder to help build the new (and ever-popular) ABYSS Brewery + Tap in Lewes, East Sussex.


Simon Forster |
Robot Food

Simon Forster is the founder and executive creative director at Leeds based strategic branding agency Robot Food. Simon founded Robot Food in 2009, a fiercely independent agency specialising in the creation and repositioning of brands with cut-through strategy and design. With an uncommon blend of creative and commercial vision, Simon leads his team partnering with clients to go beyond the brief, always challenging to deliver effective commercial results. Most recently designing a global brand refresh for Brooklyn Brewery, Simon and his team have partnered with global beer brands such as Carlsberg and Vocation Brewery, designing brands that nail a proposition and create demand.

Miranda Hudson | Duration Brewing

Miranda Hudson is cofounder of Duration Brewing, a progressive farmhouse brewery built to make ‘Beers That Belong’ in Norfolk. In the few years since starting out Miranda and Derek Bates (co-founder and head brewer) have ensured Duration Brewing has grown in stature, expanding capacity and picking up a raft of awards along the way.


Tim O’Rourke | Brilliant Beer Company / The Brewers Journal

Tim O’Rourke is a Master Brewer with more than 35 years experience and the technical editor of The Brewers Journal. He has been involved in the international brewing industry in a wide range of capacities, his expertise covers product and business development, marketing and promotion. For the past 20 years Tim has also run The Brilliant Beer Company, a technical training & brewing consultancy, providing technical support and training for breweries. International clients include Heineken, Coors, Carlsberg, AB INBev, Diageo as well as smaller craft brewers throughout the world. In 2013 the Brilliant Beer College was launched to facilitate this industry training.


Alex Troncoso | Lost and Grounded Brewers 

Alex Troncoso is the co-founder of Bristol’s Lost and Grounded Brewers. Known for their standout flagship Keller Pils, this unfiltered lager epitomises which they are about: understated simplicity and creating something delicious and complex. The business, he started with Annie Clements back in 2016, continues to go from strength-to-strength, with a recent significant capacity enabling the team to make more delicious beer than ever before.
