Timothy Taylor’s expand stout offering with cask launch

Timothy Taylor’s has broadened its Stout offering with the launch of a new 4.2% beer launching exclusively in cask in pubs.

Brewed with carefully chosen roasted malts, the stout delivers rich coffee and chocolate flavours, balanced by a gentle bitterness and a smooth, satisfying mouthfeel and finish.

Described as rich, smooth cask stout dark in colour with subtle ruby undertones, Timothy Taylor’s Stout pours with a creamy white head.

It offers aromas of freshly roasted coffee and subtle smoky notes lead into rich coffee and chocolate flavours.

A gentle bitterness brings balance, rounding off a smooth mouthfeel and satisfying finish. At the heart of the beer is a combination of Golden Promise Pale Ale Malt, roasted barley, crystal malt, chocolate malt and crystal rye malt.

Together, the brewery said, they build the rich, roasted character that defines the new cask stout. Whole leaf WGV, Goldings and Fuggles hops, pure Knowle Spring water and their Taylor’s Taste yeast strain complete the brew.

Andy Leman, head brewer at Timothy Taylor’s, said: “We wanted a stout with plenty of roasted character and the balance people expect from Taylor’s.

“It’s rich and smooth, with lovely coffee and chocolate flavours, but at 4.2% it still has that sessionability we look for in every beer.”

The first pours took place at Taylor’s on the Green in Keighley and the Woolly Sheep Inn in Skipton last week

Distribution will then extend across the wider Timothy Taylor’s pub estate, followed by pubs across the UK.
