When Detroit Pistons all-star Andre Drummond needed to
lose weight, he turned to beer to get the pounds off, according to The
Wall Street Journal and VinePair.
Coming into the 2019-2020 season, the 6 feet 10 inch
player knew he needed to lose weight. His personal chef suggested cutting out
meat but then to give something back to his body after a workout, the chef
suggested Drummond have a beer.
Heading the advice, Drummond began drinking one cold beer
every day with lunch during the summer months. Not being much of a beer
drinker, it was a period of adjustment. “I’ve never drunk this much beer in my
life,” Drummond told The Wall Street Journal. “This is not something I suggest
to everyone,” he added, “[but] for my mass, it’s what works best.”
Was it the beer
that took the pounds off or the exercise? The jury is still out.
