Brew York Launches “Slay Queen” to celebrate International Women’s Day

York-based independent brewery Brew York has announced the release of Slay Queen, a bold West Coast IPA brewed to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026.

International Women’s Day, marked globally on March 8th each year, is a day dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, while also recognising the work still to be done to achieve gender equality.

At Brew York, it’s an opportunity to champion the incredible women within the business, across the brewing industry, and throughout its wider community.

The beer was brewed back in January at Brew York’s Osbaldwick brewery, where women from across the Brew York team — alongside women from a number of trade customers — were invited to take part in the brew day. The collaboration created a space to celebrate shared experiences, highlight female voices within the industry, and quite simply brew a fantastic beer together.

Jess Chaney & Sam Warren-Close, at Brew York, said: “It was amazing to see so many talented women come together for the brew day — from our own team to trade customers. Slay Queen isn’t just a beer, it’s a celebration of strength, creativity and independence, and we can’t wait for everyone to try it and raise a glass to women everywhere.”

Slay Queen will launch on Tuesday 3rd March 2026, available via the Brew York website and through selected good beer retailers across the UK.
