Sonja Mitchell is the founder and MD of Jump Ship Brewing, Scotland’s only dedicated alcohol-free brewery.  Sonja moved to Scotland in 2009 and fell in love with the food and craft beer scene.  Unable to find the authentic beer she craved when she no longer wanted the fuzzy head the next day, she jumped ship from her day job in 2019 to brew her own. She launched the business from her garage, working with a local brewery to contract brew her recipes.

Once she proved demand for the beers, she raised funds to build her own brewery, with Pete Sharp joining as head brewer to oversee production. In January 2024 Jump Ship opened the doors of its new brewery based on a farm just outside Edinburgh. We brew our beers to be naturally less than 0.5% and continually innovate with new beer styles, from hop showcases to mixed fermentation sours.
