Figura, an innovative provider of beverage analysis technology, today announced that renowned brewing scientist Professor David Quain has joined the company as a technical advisor.
As the non-alcoholic (NA) beer sector continues its rapid global growth, Figura is positioning itself as the essential analytical partner for brewers and brands.
Dr Quain, Honorary Professor of Fermentation and Dispense Technology at the University of Nottingham, brings decades of expertise in fermentation and microbiology – critical factors in the production and dispense of alcohol-free products.
Figura’s technology tracks the “fingerprint” and consistency of NA beer throughout the supply chain, from production to dispense in the pub.
Professor Quain’s guidance will be pivotal in optimizing these analytical models to address the unique microbial and sensory challenges of NA beer.
“Non-alcoholic beer is a technically demanding product that lacks natural protection,” said Dr Mark Platt, CTOat Figura. “By bringing David onto our advisory board, we are ensuring that our analysis provides the deepest possible insights for our partners, ensuring quality isn’t just a goal, but a measurable reality.”
Quain added: “I am impressed by Figura’s commitment to real-world analysis. Moving beyond the lab, into production and the cellar is exactly what the industry needs to build consumer trust in the NA category.”
