Salford-based brewer Hydes is continuing the momentum behind its popular seasonal ale programme with the release of Hydes IPA, the third cask ale in its six-strong 2025 Vintage range.
Available across its pub estate throughout May and June, Hydes IPA (4.4% ABV) builds on the success of the brewery’s earlier 2025 releases, XPA and Mild, further enriching its bi-monthly rotation of limited-edition ales.
Brewed with Vienna and Cara malts, the new IPA has a light golden hue and a subtle depth of flavour. The addition of Emperor hops gives the beer a refreshing citrus lift with floral notes on the nose, creating a balanced and easy-drinking ale that celebrates both modern craft and traditional techniques.
Hydes IPA is part of the brewery’s expanding Vintage range, which launched in 2024 to great acclaim. Inspired by Hydes’ original Anvil Brand beers, the series pays homage to the brewery’s roots while introducing distinctive seasonal brews designed for today’s drinkers. Each ale in the collection is brewed to reflect a classic style, with an emphasis on authenticity and flavour.
Following IPA, the Vintage range will continue to unfold throughout the year with new releases every two months, including Hydes Red (4.5% ABV), Hydes Stingo (6.0% ABV), and Hydes Imperial (5.2% ABV), all crafted to reflect Hydes’ rich brewing heritage.
To complement the range, Hydes has unveiled a bold new design concept rooted in retro influences from the 1960s and 70s. Each beer in the Vintage series is presented with eye-catching pump clips and promotional materials featuring the revived Anvil Brewery branding.
The classic visuals are designed to appeal to both seasoned ale lovers and new audiences, blending nostalgia with contemporary styling.
Adam Mayers, managing director of Hydes, said: “We’re excited to be rolling out Hydes IPA as the third cask ale in our 2025 Vintage series. The response to the first two brews has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re confident our customers will enjoy this refreshing IPA just as much.
“The vintage branding taps into the character of a simpler time, evoking the charm of our Anvil Brand heritage while remaining relevant to today’s drinkers. This range is about celebrating where we’ve come from, while looking ahead with fresh energy.”
Founded in 1863, Hydes brews in Media City, Salford, and supplies cask ales and craft beers to wholesalers, pub companies, and its own estate of more than 40 pubs across the North West and North Wales.
