Lost Cause Brewing Co launches

Lost Cause Brewing Co., founded by renowned brewer Colin Stronge and esteemed brand manager Vik Kastenbauer Stronge, has launched onto the UK beer scene.

The business, which will showcase its first beers at The Brewers Lectures in Bristol this April, is headed up on the brewing side by Stronge.

Known globally, Stronge has a track record that includes stints at renowned breweries Buxton Brewing Co, Black Isle, Marble Beers and Salt Beer Factory. He was also crowned Brewer of the Year 2022 by The Brewers Journal, and is celebrated for his unwavering commitment to quality and creativity.

Lost Cause Brewing Co is co-founded by his business partner Vik Kastenbauer Stronge who has a raft of experience in brand management working with outfits such as Fourpure and Magic Rock.

“Sometimes you need a little bit of discomfort to give you that push in life,” she says.

Colin, who recently left his role at Salt Beer Factory, adds: “It’s all happened very fast. Faster than we expected, to be honest! We could have mulled it over for six months, or I could have looked at a different job – maybe in a different industry – but instead we thought ‘let’s just go for it!“.

The business emerges as a beacon of resilience, marking Stronge’s first solo venture into the brewing world. It’s a testament to his boldness and belief that great beer knows no compromise.

Each brew is a labour of love, meticulously crafted to perfection, echoing Stronge’s fervent conviction that no cause is ever truly lost.

“We aimed to create a range of beers that showcases Colin’s dedication to experimentation and innovation,” explained Vik Kastenbauer Stronge, co-founder of Lost Cause Brewing Co.

“With each brew, our goal is to push boundaries, challenge norms, and redefine the craft beer experience for our customers. Our line-up of brews does not compromise on taste or quality, creating a sense of exploration while remaining balanced and drinkable.”

Lost Cause Brewing Co. is poised to unveil its inaugural line-up of uncompromising brews starting April 2024. Among the first offerings are “Me Myself & I,” a tropical pale ale bursting with papaya, melon, and passionfruit hop-forward flavour with a 5% ABV, and “In the Club Style,” a bold and robust stout synonymous with Stronge’s signature recipe style, boasts roasted chocolatey flavours and a 6% ABV.

Utilising partner breweries, Lost Cause Brewing Co. will focus on a number of one-off releases alongside core beer Lully, a 4% session pale ale.

Colin said: “I feel that many breweries focus on their core beers now, which is great. But that also means there is something of a gap in the market for seasonal, limited release beers.

“We want people to know that you can rely on our beers for the quality you’d expect from us. We’re excited to be working together and also with excellent people that we’ve been fortunate to meet along the way during our time in this industry.”

To commemorate the launch, Lost Cause Brewing Co. will host a series of exclusive events at select venues across the UK, providing attendees with a first-hand taste of the brand’s indomitable spirit and ingenuity.
