Pretty Decent Beer Co to open new Walthamstow taproom

Independent London brewery, Pretty Decent Beer Co, is launching a new taproom within 17&Central, Walthamstow.

The new taproom, named ‘Pretty Decent & Friends’, will occupy the first-floor hospitality destination within Crate at 17& Central. Boasting 10 taps of ever-changing fresh craft beer brewed locally at Pretty Decent’s Blackhorse Road brewery.

The new site will feature weekly special releases and core favourites such as ‘I Could Get Better At T*sco For a Quid,’ a soft and juicy 4.5% Session IPA paying homage to an early Google Review.

“We’re super excited to be opening our third venue in the heart of Waltham Forest.” said Co-Founder Sarah Casey. “The brewery has grown up here and the local community has played such a central part in getting us to where we are today. The name speaks to the fact that we’ll be working closely with some incredible street food vendors to create a community spot where you can come and hang out with your pals”

Beyond the bar, Pretty Decent aims to deliver a vibrant community hub, fostering connections over shared interests and unique experiences. The team love to collaborate and will use the bar and events space as a platform to showcase local businesses, curating a regular programme of events, including drinks tastings (such as its popular crisp and beer pairing), supper clubs, and workshops.

Every Thursday, drinkers can attend Pretty Decent’s ‘First Pour Thursday’ event and enjoy that week’s special release, and core beers, for an unbeatable £4 a pint. The brewery plans to collaborate closely with 17&Central’s exceptional street food vendors, presenting affordable food and drink deals along with tailor-made beer pairings for menu items.

“It’s a great space and we can’t wait to leave our mark on it.” she continued “We want to make it a destination spot for the local community with an events programme, and crucially a drinks list, which has something for everyone. We can’t wait to bring Pretty Decent Beer to even more people!”

Co-Founder James Casey added: “We’re a brewery born and raised in Waltham Forest, and as local residents here also Sarah and I think that the investment in this area is so important for the community – so we are thrilled at the chance to ensure it acts as a platform for independent, locally made produce – we look forward to partnering with amazing food producers already there.

“And we’re going to have some fun with it – so watch this space for plenty of fresh beer, food pairings, karaoke, happy hour and a general taste of Retail High Life!”
