Beer’s role in communities, sustainable practices and brewing’s contribution to the economy across Europe were all on the agenda during The Brewers of Europe’s 2026 general assembly.
The meeting in Lisbon brought together representatives from national brewers’ associations and brewing companies from across Europe.
During the general assembly, members exchanged views on key priorities for the European brewing sector and discussed the challenges and opportunities facing brewers across Europe.
Discussions reflected a shared conviction that beer is more than just a drink, playing an important role in bringing people together, strengthening communities, supporting livelihoods and contributing to Europe’s cultural heritage and economic prosperity.
The meeting reaffirmed the sector’s commitment to working together to support a sustainable, innovative and competitive brewing industry, while ensuring that beer continues to create value far beyond the brewery gates.
